Season 2022 President’s Welcome

My name is Ben Boyce and I have taken over the reins as Club President from Julie Johnson. Julie has moved to Vice President after 5 very successful years leading the club.

With an amazing effort both on and off the field last season (3 premierships!), we are looking to go bigger and better again this season. We have 15 teams registered across all competitions along with a strong Auskick contingent that grows each year.

I would like to thank all the volunteers around the club; the coaches, managers, runners and especially all the amazing SJFC committee members. The season wouldn’t be possible without the generous time and effort given by our volunteers to bring the season to life and share the joy of football with the community.

There have been some significant upgrades around the club preparing for this season. Most notably, our new Merchandise Store located next to the clubroom pavilion. This huge project was led by our amazing Merchandise Coordinator, Janine, and supported by members of the SJFC committee. A lot of hard work went into getting this project completed and we encourage everyone to go and check it out, with the increased space we are now able to stock a wider range of SJFC products.

We will also be adding a new scoreboard at Kevan Langdon Reserve and have upgraded some essential canteen equipment. These upgrades wouldn’t be possible without the huge support we receive from all our members – every pair of socks, beanie, coffee of hot dog you buy down at the clubrooms goes directly back to support and grow the football club.

The other reason we have been able to achieve so much is the strong support from our sponsors, please read the Sponsorship update below for a full list of all these awesome local business’s that, even in these uncertain times, are still giving their support to our club. Special mention to our returning Platinum Sponsor, The Sandbar, a great local business that has supported SJFC for many years.

As the cloud of COVID-19 still hangs overhead, the focus for this season will be to deliver a full season that is also safe for all of our players and supporters. SJFC along with the WAFC will be following all health directions handed down by the state government as pertaining to community sport. With the possibility of rapidly changing regulations, swift communication will be key to keeping everyone informed and safe. Please continue to check emails from the club regularly and please follow us on Facebook as this is the quickest and easiest way to distribute information throughout the club.

Scarborough Junior Football Club celebrates its 60th anniversary this year and we are hoping to be able to bring some exciting events to the club. Scarborough Day will return on round 7, 19th of June which we hope to be the focus of the celebration.

Bring on the footy!
